都市をたずねる107 -「岡田将孝ガイド!! 歌舞伎町路上飲みツアー」- “OKADA Masataka Presents: Street Drinking Tour in Kabukicho”

トモ都市美術館では11月1日（土）にBENTENアー横内の企画として「岡田将孝ガイド!!歌舞伎町路上飲みツアー」 をやってみます。やることはめちゃくちゃシンプルで、迷惑にならないように歌舞伎町各所で路上飲酒するというものです。ガイドは前回の渋谷編に続いてChim↑Pom from Smappa!Groupの岡田さんにお願いします！岡田さんとは何度も路上飲みさてもらっているのですが、コンビニ、座れる場所、視線を遮れる壁、ごみ箱、トイレといった複合的な地理情報から飲める場所を瞬時に導きだす姿に、いつも感心させられます！「こんな場所があったんだ、、」の連続で、ツアー後にはちょっと街の見え方が変わるはず！
街なかでの禁止事項が年々増えていても、飲酒に関しては許されているのが日本の路上の面白いところでした。ただ、近年渋谷での規制が強化されたり、新宿でもハロウィン期間中（イベント開催日の前日！）は路上飲酒が規制されるようになりました。この流れは今後さらに強まっていくかもしれません。そうならないためにも、スマートな路上飲みの美学というと大げさですが、その辺りのことも一緒に考えられたら嬉しいです。
ちなみに当日開催中のBENTEN2では、「都市の再野生化」をテーマにしているということもあって、今回の路上飲みツアーが、街に残された野生を再発見する一助になれば幸いです。王城ビルのアー横に集合して、ちょっと話して、外に出て3時間くらい飲む、っていうイメージで考えています。近くのBENTENサテライト会場もめぐるかも。どなたでも、よかったら一緒に路上飲みしましょう。誰も来なかったら2人でやってます。
On November 1 (Sat), TOMO City Museum hosts “OKADA Masataka Presents: Street Drinking Tour in Kabukicho” as part of the BENTEN 2. It’s a super simple idea: enjoy drinks around Kabukicho—without bothering anyone—guided by artist OKADA Masataka (Chim↑Pom from Smappa!Group).
Okada has an amazing instinct for finding perfect street drinking spots — balancing convenience stores, benches, walls, trash bins, and restrooms into one perfect setup. You’ll discover corners of Kabukicho you’ve probably never noticed before, and by the end of the night, the city will look a little different to you.
As public restrictions tighten every year, this tour playfully reconsiders what freedom and togetherness can mean in the streets. The event also connects to BENTEN 2’s theme, exploring the wild side that still lives in urban spaces. We’ll meet at Ojo Building at 8 PM, chat a bit, and then wander and drink around for about three hours. Everyone’s welcome! If no one shows up, we’ll still be drinking—just the two of us.

岡田さんの都市の見方をインストールするような3時間でした。20人以上という大人数で歌舞伎町の路上、地下、コンビニ、ギャラリー、商業施設を歩きながら飲むという、なかなかできない体験でもありました。最初に行ったのは新宿の地下でしたが、何よりこれほど多くのトイレがあったことに、みんなで驚きました（有益情報ありがとうございました）。路上に出てからは、買い出しとごみ箱のためにコンビニに目配せをしながら、建物の縁やガードレールなどいろいろを使ってテーブル替わりにして飲んでいました。途中、チンポムの作品《ビルバーガー》の前で酒を置いて飲みながら、岡田さんによる作品解説を聞くという贅沢な時間も。その場その場で変わる空気を感じながら、都市と人と飲酒の関係を考えながら歩いていました。最後は歌舞伎町公園で終電まで飲んで解散。都市の規制やルールの隙間で、まだ遊べる場所がたくさんあることを教えてくれました。岡田さん、参加してくれた皆さん、ありがとうございました！（トモトシ）
It was a three-hour session of installing Okada’s unique way of seeing the city. With more than twenty participants, walking and drinking through Kabukicho’s streets, underground passages, convenience stores, galleries, and commercial buildings was quite an experience. The first stop was an underground area with around four public restrooms—an unexpected discovery that surprised everyone. Once back on the street, we kept an eye out for convenience stores to restock drinks or find trash bins, using building edges and guardrails as makeshift tables. At one point, we placed our drinks in front of Chim↑Pom’s Billburger and listened to Okada’s commentary—a luxurious moment. Feeling the changing atmosphere from place to place, we walked while reflecting on the relationship between the city, people, and drinking. We ended the night drinking in Kabukicho Park until the last train. It reminded us that, even within the city’s regulations and restrictions, there are still many spaces left to play. Thank you, Okada and everyone who joined! Next time—Ikebukuro or Ueno!
