「都市をたずねる」100回記念展 -「都市をたずねた100」- 100th Edition of “Ask the City” – “Asked the City 100”
2020年4月、人と会うことが制限された時期にオープンしたトモ都市美術館。どうすれば人と“出会い直す”ことができるのかを模索しながら、トモトシ常設展、散歩、トークイベント、飲み会など、さまざまな場を設けてきました。共同設立者の秋山佑太と西田編集長をはじめ、多くの皆さんの協力のもと、2度の移転を経たりしながらも、「都市について考える」という姿勢を貫いてきました。そしてこの度、その名の通りのシリーズ企画「都市をたずねる」が、ついに記念すべき100回目を迎えることになりました！
この節目を祝うべく、同じくパンデミック期にスタートし、常に刺激的な企画を仕掛け続けている（しかも、うちよりずっと都市っぽい場所にある 笑）WHITEHOUSEにて、「都市をたずねる」100回記念展 -「都市をたずねた100」を開催します。
これまで都市をたずねてきた記録を写真や映像で振り返り、これからの都市について考えるような機会になればと思っています。会期は3日間と短いですが、期間中には100回目の記念回となる「山手線の全駅前で乾杯！」も開催します！会場でも駅前でも、どなたでもお待ちしております。一緒に都市をたずね、祝杯を交わせれば幸いです！（トモ都市美術館館長 トモトシ）
TOMO City Museum opened in April 2020, when meeting people was restricted. Since then, we have been exploring ways to “re-encounter” others by organizing various events, including the Tomotosi permanent exhibition, walks, talks, and gatherings. With the support of many people, including co-founders Yuta Akiyama and Nishida Henshucho, and after two relocations, we have remained committed to one thing—thinking about the city. Now, our signature series “Ask the City” has reached its milestone 100th edition!
To celebrate this occasion, we are hosting the “Ask the City 100″ exhibition—”Asked the City 100” at WHITEHOUSE, a space that also emerged during the pandemic and has continued to create inspiring projects (and, to be honest, is in a much more urban location than ours—haha).
This show will reflect on our past journeys through the city with photos and videos while also providing a space to think about the future of the city. Although the exhibition runs for only three days, we are also marking this milestone with the special event “Cheers at Every Yamanote Stop!” Join us at the venue, at the stations, or anywhere in between—everyone is welcome!
