コンビニはその均質な便利さを、均一に提供してくれるお店だ。どのコンビニに行っても、いつでも、安心のサービスを用意してくれている。だがコンビニの細部を丁寧に観察していると、店舗ごとに小さな差異が見えてくる。６つの代表的なコンビニにおいて６つの同じ商品を買い、それぞれの店員の対応を観察した。言わばコンビニ以上のピュアさで買い物客をトモトシが演じることで、コンビニのノイズを垣間見る試みである。

Convenience stores offer uniform service, ensuring the same reliable experience everywhere. However, subtle differences emerge when observed closely. In this work, Tomotosi buys the same six items at six different convenience stores, examining how each staff member interacts with him. By embodying the idealized role of a shopper—one even more “convenient” than the store itself—he attempts to reveal the hidden nuances and inconsistencies within these spaces of standardized efficiency.
