都市をたずねる 58 -「スカイツリーの影を踏む」 – “Step on the shadow of Sky Tree”
TOMO都市美術館の土曜の恒例企画「都市をたずねる」。5月27日(土)は、Teraccollective主催で開催される「Really Really Free Market」(※)に出張して、「スカイツリーの影を踏む」をやってみます。13時にToken Art Centerに集合。まずはスカイツリーがどんな影を落としているのかをみんなで考え、予想図を描いてみます。参加者の方々で、科学や地理や数学または美術などの知恵をシェアしてイメージができれば幸いです。さらに15時に合わせて、実際に予想図の影のてっぺんの場所に行って確認してみましょう。
当日の天気によっては影が見られるかわかりませんし、影が見えても建物があって踏むことができないかもしれません。いずれにしても、2012年の5/22に開業し、ちょうど11周年を迎えたスカイツリーが周辺にどのような影響をもたらしたかを話しながら、、、このエリアの再開発などについても探っていければと思います。どなたでも参加自由。途中参加・途中退散もちろんOK。誰も来なければトモトシ1人でやってみます。

On Saturday, May 27, we will try “Stepping into the Shadow of Sky Tree” Meet at Token Art Center at 13:00. First, everyone will try to guess what kind of shadow the Sky Tree casts and draw a picture on a map. We hope that participants will share their knowledge of science, geography, mathematics, art, etc. to create an image. In addition, let’s go to the actual location of the top of the shadow on the forecasted map to check it in time for 3:00 p.m.

墨田区での「Really Really Free Market」に誘ってもらって、思いつきででっち上げた企画でした。それでも天気がめっちゃいい感じだったり、参加者の方のミラクルな知識だったりが重なって、とても楽しいイベントになりました。まずは地図とペンで影の形を予想しました。高さと時間を入力したら影の仰角と方位角がわかるようなウェブページがあったりして、へええっとなりました。予想図A、B、Cくらいが出たとこで外へ出て確認へ！実際にはてっぺんの方の影は薄まってて全く認識できず、、！視点とツリーと太陽が重なる場所を探す旅となりました。参加者の1人が計算して割り出した予想位置が10m誤差でパシッと合ってて驚きでした！影は5分経つだけでも向きと長さが変わって、地球の動きを感じられたのもよかったです。あと影を追っているうちに、スカイツリーがこの地域一帯の屋根のように見えてくるという変な感覚を覚えましたね。そうはいっても、古くから残る住宅と、スカイツリー開業を契機に建てられたマンションとのコントラストははっきりしてて、他にない街並みを作っていました。スカイツリーの影を追ううちに都市の歴史についていろいろ想像が巡る旅でした。皆さんご参加ありがとうございました。（トモトシ）
ｆIt was a very fun event. First, we used a map and pen to predict the shape of the shadow. There was a web page that showed the elevation and azimuth angle of the shadow after entering the height and time. When we had three predictions, we went outside to check them out! In fact, the shadow at the top was so faded that it was completely unrecognizable! Thus, it was a journey to find the point of view and the place where the tree and the sun overlapped. One of the participants calculated the expected position and was surprised to find that it was right within 10 meters! The shadows changed direction and length even after 5 minutes, and it was great to feel the movement of the earth. Also, as I followed the shadows, I had the strange sensation that the Sky Tree looked like the roof of the entire area. Even so, the contrast between the old residences and the condominiums built after the opening of the Skytree was clear, creating a cityscape like no other. It was a trip that made me imagine a lot about the history of the city as I followed the shadow of the Skytree. Thank you all for joining us.(tomotosi)
