都市をたずねる74 -「東池袋の全コンビニを巡る」 – “Tour of all convenience stores in Higashi-Ikebukuro”
TOMO都市美術館の土曜の恒例企画「都市をたずねる」。11月4日（土）は「東池袋の全コンビニを巡る」 をやってみます。日本には56,919店（2022年1月時点）あり、豊島区東池袋にはなんと38店ものコンビニ（セブンイレブン、ファミリーマート、ローソン、ローソンストア100、デイリーヤマザキ）があるようです（グーグルマップ）。今回はめちゃシンプル、この38店舗すべて巡ってみようという企画です。今年3月に開催した「歌舞伎町の全コンビニを巡る」、7月に開催した「渋谷区渋谷の全コンビニを巡る」に続いての第3弾です。どちらともかなり歩くことになりましたが、普段することのない街歩きとなってめちゃ楽しかったです。ちなみに店舗数では史上最多です、、ただエリアの面積は比較的小さく、まとまっている印象です。どうなるか楽しみです！
いつ行っても素晴らしいサービスを均質に提供してくれるコンビニは日常生活に欠かせないです。今回は、そんなコンビニの建ち方の違いに注目するツアーになればと思っています。均質なサービスを目指していたとしても、建物の形状やディスプレイの仕方は、環境によって、もしくは店長の個性によって微差があるはず。トモトシもそうなのですが、コンビニでバイトした経験がある人も結構いると思うので、働く側の話とかもしてみたいですね。夜にかけて寒くなってくると思うので、コンビニで温かい物でも食べながら歩きましょう。途中参加・離脱もちろんOKっす。誰も来なかったらトモトシ1人でやってみます。
On Saturday, November 4, we will do a “Tour of all convenience stores in Higashi-Ikebukuro”. There are 56,919 convenience stores in Japan (as of January 2022), and there are 38 convenience stores in Higashi-Ikebukuro. This time, we decided to make a simple tour of all 38 convenience stores. Convenience stores are indispensable in our daily lives because they provide homogeneous and excellent service anytime we go there. This time, we hope this tour will focus on the differences in the way such convenience stores are built. Even if they aim to provide homogeneous service, there must be slight differences in the shape of the building and the way they display their products, depending on the environment or the personality of the store manager. Everyone is requested to meet in front of the Ikebukuro East Exit “Ikefukuro Statue” at 6:00 p.m. Participation is free, and you can join us during the meeting.

東池袋の全コンビニを巡り切りました！想定より多い40…？ちょうど5時間の長旅！ファミマに始まりファミマに終わる。このエリアの全店舗の半分以上がファミマだったため、デイリーとか100ローに出会うとめちゃテンション上がって店員を驚かせてしまう変な客たちでした🙏新宿や渋谷と違ったのは、中心地は歩くのもたいへんなくらい人が多いのに、少し離れたら人通りが少ない落ち着いた通りに出るところ。そのギャップが街に多彩さを与えている気もしました。池袋にちょっと詳しくなり、池袋がちょっと好きになりましたね、皆様お疲れでした！（トモトシ）
We went through all the convenience stores in Higashi Ikebukuro! Including the ones we found locally, it was exactly 40 stores! Since more than half of the stores in the area were Famima, we were the odd customers who would get excited when we came across a Daily Yamazaki or a 100-yen Lawson and surprise the clerk. What makes this area different from Shinjuku and Shibuya is that once you get away from the center of the city, you are on a quiet street with few pedestrians. This gap gave the city variety. I became a little more familiar with Ikebukuro and a little more fond of it. Thank you all for your hard work! (tomotosi)
