概要 / Overview
トモ都市美術館は、現代都市における実験的な試みを実践･収集・紹介する美術館です。2020年4月に東京･西荻窪に開館（2025年現在は亀戸に移転）。コロナ禍で展示機会を失ったトモトシが、自身の作品を見てもらう場を確保するために、秋山佑太や西田編集長らを中心に様々な方に協力してもらいながらスタートしました。トモトシ常設展のほか、都市を扱う美術館として、人が出会える状況をつくる企画を考えてきました。パンデミックが収まりをみせてからは、「面白いことはやっぱり路上で起こるはず！」という信念のもと、特に「新しい都市の使い方」の提案に力を入れて活動しています。

The TOMO City Museum explores, collects, and showcases experimental approaches to modern urban life. Opened in April 2020 in Nishi-Ogikubo, Tokyo (relocated to Kameido in 2025), it was founded by artist Tomotosi as a space to present his work during the pandemic. With support from collaborators like AKIYAMA Yuta and NISHIDA Henshucho, the museum has developed initiatives to foster meaningful encounters. Since the pandemic’s decline, it has focused on proposing innovative ways to use urban situations, driven by the belief that “exciting things always happen on the streets!”

沿革
– 2020年4月：「トモ都市美術館」開館（東京都杉並区上荻4-6-6）
– 2020年10月：強制退去のため移転（東京都杉並区西荻南2-9-12）
– 2020年12月：「TOMO都市美術館」に館名変更し、徐々に活動再開
– 2021年1月：クラウドファンディングの支援を受け、改修開始
– 2021年5月：新館正式開館
– 2024年1月：家賃高騰のため墨田区へ移転（墨田区文花2-6-3）、館名をトモ都市美術館に戻す
