ガードレールの隙間など抜け道として使用されているような場所をテープで塞ぎ、それが誰かによってふたたび開通される瞬間（ゴールテープが切られる瞬間）を待ち続けました。街の綻びを正したい行政と、街を使い倒していく利用者をめぐる、コミュニケーションの縮図でもあります。オリンピックを契機に再開発と浄化が行われていた東京に捧げます。

パッキング・ロマンス / Packing Romance

街なかを歩くカップル。片方が相手にアイスを食べさせてあげ、さらに50メートル歩いたところで、今度はもう片方が相手にアイスを食べさせてあげる。この正味1分の出来事を再生・逆再生を繰り返し、展覧会のオープンからクローズまでの7時間、ずっとアイスを食べさせ合う2人が見られる映像となった。

Capturing a couple feeding each other ice cream as they walk through the city. This brief moment is played on loop for the entire seven-hour exhibition, creating an endless cycle of shared affection.

粘土(半乾燥)でできた爆弾を東京の満員電車に持ち込んだら、人の圧力で爆弾がねじ曲がった。パンデミックで自分以外の人と触れることが憚れる時期に、人と人の隙間の交渉を捕捉した。

When tomotosi brought a bomb made of clay (semi-dry) to a crowded train in Tokyo, the bomb twisted under the pressure of people. He captured the negotiation of the gap between people at a time when people were afraid to touch anyone but themselves due to the pandemic.

道路の両端から相手の発煙筒の煙を見ながら歩き、中央で出会う。出会うことが困難な時代に、自分自身と出会い直す試み。

ミッシング・サン / The Missing Sun

新国立競技場周辺には、1964年の東京オリンピック開催に合わせて建てられた国旗掲揚塔が点在し、そのうちのいくつかは未だ健在である。果たして2度目のオリンピックは無事に開かれ、これらの塔に日の丸ははためくのだろうか。
東京の緊急事態宣言の延長が決まった2021年3月、国や自分自身の状況(COVID-19やオリンピックの件だけでなく、何かと疎まれる存在である「おじさん」になりつつある自分のことなど)にやりようのなさを感じながら、ぼくはこの塔に白旗を揚げることにした。もう日常の風景になってしまったマスクのサイズの白旗から始めて、同名の展覧会会期中(代々木TOH、3/17-19)も含め、段階的に大きくしていった。
深夜、人通りが少なくなったときを見計らい、前日の倍の大きさの白旗に取り換え、翌日、誰かこのメッセージに感付く人がいるだろうか?と観察・記録を繰り返した。

In March 2021, as the government pushed for the Olympics despite a state of emergency, the artist raised a white flag the size of a mask. If left untouched, it was replaced with a larger one.

2020年5月、最初の緊急事態宣言が発令され、人と話し触れることが制限されていた。コミュニケーションの方法を考え直さざるを得なかくなった。何もかもが不透明な状況のなか僕たちは街に出て、瞬間的にではあるが、通りすがりの人たちとの接触することを試みた。出演:真継駿

2020年の5月初旬の中央線沿線では、コロナウィルス感染拡大が落ち着いたことからステイホームを解く人が急増していた。情報の錯綜や行政の迷走のなかで、自ら判断をして外に出た人たちである。彼女/彼らのパンデミックに対する決断を称えるために、ぼくはビクトリーロードを設置した。

イフアイムーブミー / If I Move Me

コロナウィルスの影響で参加予定だった5つのイベントや展覧会が飛んだ。
そんな3月末、ぼくは6年間住んだ西新宿の家を出た。
収入がなくなったため業者を手配することもできず、自力で荷物を運ぶことにした。
この映像は、西荻窪の新居まで6時間をかけて家財道具を運んだ記録である。

Five exhibitions were canceled due to the coronavirus.
At the end of March, I left the house in Shinjuku where I lived for 6 years.
I could not arrange a mover because my income was gone.
I decided to carry the luggage myself. This is a video that I carried furniture over 6 hours to a new house in Nishi Ogikubo.
