TOPSHOPが恋しくて / TOPSHOP, We Are Missing You.
ロンドン発のファストファッションブランド「トップショップ / トップマン（TOPSHOP / TOPMAN）」が、2015年1月31日付けで日本国内の既存店舗を全て閉店しました。予告なしの日本撤退に、ネット上では多くのファンが悲しみを表明し、様々な憶測が飛び交っています。2015年2月11日夜半、私はTOPSHOPミラザ新宿店のフロントドアにシャツ型に写真を貼り付けました。ブランドの一ファンでもあった私にとって、「撤退を撤回して欲しい」という淡い希望と、「これまでの感謝の意」を込めたものでした。写真の一枚一枚には、「閉店を知らせる張り紙を見て、立ち尽くすお客さんたち」が写っています。これは閉店が決まってから約一ヶ月もの間に渡って見られた光景でした。
TOPSHOP, We Are Missing You.
Leading British fast-fashion chain Topshop closed all of its five locations in Japan at the end of January. Customers were sad to hear this news without prior notice, and have been wondering why it happened.
In the late-night of February 11, 2015, I attached pictures composing like a shirt’s form on the entrance door of the shop in Shinjuku.
It expresses that we wanted them to take back the notice and that we are grateful for the services till now.
Each picture represents a customer who is standing without moving in front of the notice. And the scene like this had been seen until the end of February.
